Aha!

I needed to analysing my artwork to find an area which would provide a background to my fibre art.

The background would need to offer a large percentage of 'gap' to allow the fibreart to create shadows behind it.

I played around with grids, sizes and shapes as shown below:

Landing on this particular area of Juliets study, this image would offer an approximate 50% of "gap" and 50% of"background".

I felt really pleased with this artwork, however, I was slightly concerned whether my wood cutting skills would be good enough - only time would tell. But first there was a trip to the saw mills.
